OpenStocks Compliance Checklist: Geo, Suitability, and What Tokens Are Not
OpenStocks compliance checklist: geo rules, suitability, what tokens are not, opsec, and pass/fail checks before you trade.

OpenStocks compliance checklist
OpenStocks compliance starts before the first signature: geo eligibility, suitability honesty, and a clear record that tokens are not equity. This checklist is for users and ops teams—not legal advice.
Primary app: https://app.openstocks.xyz/trade. Site: https://www.openstocks.xyz. Eligibility depends on your jurisdiction; see the Terms.
1. Geo and person status
Confirm you are not a US person
Confirm you are not located in the United States when accessing
Confirm you are not resident in, or accessing from, Singapore or any other prohibited jurisdiction listed in the Terms
Do not use VPNs to evade geo controls
Re-check status after relocation or dual citizenship changes
OpenStocks is not available to US persons or persons in the United States, and Singapore is also a prohibited jurisdiction under the Terms. Broader access context: non-US pre-IPO access and can non-US investors buy pre-IPO stocks.
2. What tokens are (and are not)
Document in your own files:
Economic exposure only
No ownership, voting, dividends, or information rights
No affiliation with Anthropic, Figure AI, Anduril, or Neuralink
Not investment advice
High risk of total loss; liquidity not guaranteed
Read what OpenStocks tokens are not and risks.
Product references: Anthropic, Figure AI, Anduril, Neuralink.
3. Suitability self-check
Ask before sizing:
Can I lose this entire amount?
Do I understand self-custody failure modes (self-custodial wallets)?
Am I confusing tokens with Prime preferred-share funds (Prime)?
Do I understand how thin order books behave (liquidity in tokenized pre-IPO markets)?
Have I avoided prohibited marketing claims ("stablecoin for private stocks," "invest in Anduril equity")?
4. Operational security
Official URLs only
Hardware wallet for size
BNB gas buffer (gas fees)
Verify settlement txs (settlement)
Revoke stale approvals
No seed sharing—ever
5. Entity and tax notes
Decide personal vs entity wallet with counsel
Track cost basis for tokens separately from any SPV interests (vs SPV)
Do not treat OpenStocks as a broker-dealer confirmation for securities filings unless counsel says otherwise
6. Marketing and referral hygiene
If you publicly discuss OpenStocks:
Do not target US audiences or audiences in Singapore or other prohibited jurisdictions
Clarify exposure ≠ equity every time
Do not imply issuer endorsement
Link to official risk language
7. Event and Desk Keys context
Meeting the team at an event such as TOKEN2049 does not create eligibility. Desk Keys are program-specific access for eligible users—not equity—and they are not offered to residents of Singapore, the US, or other prohibited jurisdictions (TOKEN2049 event notes).
Quick pass/fail table
Check | Pass if |
|---|---|
Geo | Not a US person, not in the US, and not in a prohibited jurisdiction under the Terms (e.g. Singapore) |
Instrument literacy | Can explain tokens ≠ shares |
Custody | Controls keys / backups |
Size | Loss-tolerant |
Channel | Official app only |
FAQ
Does completing this checklist make trading "compliant" everywhere?
No. Local laws still apply; this is a platform-oriented hygiene list, not a legal opinion.
Can my US LLC trade if managers are abroad?
US-person and US-entity issues are counsel questions—default assumption is OpenStocks excludes US persons / United States.
Is "non-US" enough to be eligible?
No. Some non-US jurisdictions, including Singapore, are prohibited. Eligibility depends on your jurisdiction; see the Terms.
Where do I start after the checklist?
How to read live markets, then trade only if you still accept the risks.
